Connecting with CareCoaches

Am I/my family eligible?

Yes, if:

  1. Your family resides in North Carolina

  2. Your child (or a child you provide care for) has a diagnosis of hearing loss (any type or degree)

What are my responsibilities?

You must abide by the Community Guidelines.

Who are CareCoaches?

CareCoaches are family members of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. They have volunteered to mentor eligible families. CareCoaches can share experiences and stories to help guide families as they learn about a child’s diagnosis, look for health care options and discover community resources.

What is the process?

First, register online.
Your registration will be reviewed and once approved, you will receive an email invitation to return to TCPCareConnect.
Log in securely and search for a CareCoach based on their descriptions.
Contact an active CareCoach with a secure message.
The CareCoach will reply within 7 days.
From there, you and your CareCoach can communicate through the site’s messaging feature as needed.

Does it cost money?

No, the TCP Care Connect service is free and supported by volunteers who know how important it can be to have someone share experiences and information.

Is my privacy protected?

The information you share with us through registration and your CareCoach through the TCP CareConnect messaging system is encrypted and stored using the latest industry-standard practices. Your privacy is a top priority.

What if I have a problem?

Please reach out to our Support Team with your problems or concerns using our Contact form and we will do our best to help resolve your issues as quickly as possible.

How is communication handled?

Communication with your CareCoach through the TCP CareConnect secure messaging system works in a similar way to text messaging or direct messaging through your favorite social media platform.
